…to my official website! Jennifer El Gammal, musician and qualified London Blue Badge Tourist Guide, sociologist and magician, a bit dreamy, often happy, always hungry for new experiences, new encounters, new adventures…
On this website, you’ll find information about my current and future projects of course, but also ideas, thoughts, stories,… a collection of these little nothings that, in my opinion, give meaning to life!
So have a look around, and if something I wrote rings a bell, moves you, or even annoys you, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or email me. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
Who am I?
Born in Brussels, I fell in love with London as a teenager — so much so that I decided to move here a few years ago.
After two hard-working years and 11 exams, I qualified as a London Blue Badge Tourist Guide. I am now developing my own tours in which I combine “classic” London sights with original subjects I am passionate about (i.e. music and magic history). For example, I have put together the London Magic Tour, a walk dedicated to the “real” history of Magic in London, interspersed with magic tricks!
As a musician, I was lucky enough to meet a lot of great people, amongst whom Rupert Gillett. Cellist and singer, he had a solo project, “One Voice, One Cello”. And I, of course, had my soprano sax and this blog, “A Mad Belgian”. As soon as we played together, we knew: One Voice, One Cello & A Mad Belgian was born. Over time, the project grew and matured into a true duo where voices, improv, jazz and folk mix and merge totally freely. But don’t take my word for it: go have a look on our website, we have uploaded several high quality videos!
But come back soon: I have so much more to tell you…
